My October
Temperature: With a mean temperature for the month was 12.0C, this October was the warmest I've recorded. The highest temperature was 27.8C on the 23rd, a record for October to date. The coldest 1.4C on the 9th. No temperatures below 0 were recorded for the month though there was some frost in sheltered locations and on cars on morning of the 9th. 2002 has my October record of 2 days where temperatures were at or below 0C at some part of the day. October's 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006 and this October recorded no days at or below 0. My lowest October temperature to date is -1.8C in 2007. There were 11 days when the temperature was at or above 20C, my October average is 8. There were 5 days, my current record, when the temperature was at or above 25C where my October average is 2.
Wind: (Records from 2001) The monthly wind run of 5017km is under my October average of 5691km and the least windy October I've recorded. The windiest 2006 with 6960km Prevailing wind direction was north east recorded 38% of the month, north 22%, south 16% , north west and south west 9%, west 6%, south east and east 1%. Maximum gust was 55km/h from the west on the 4th. My current record is 66km/h from the south on the 24th Oct 2007.
Rainfall: With 26.0mm over 6 days, this October was the driest I've recorded. Average rain fall for October is 68.6mm over 10 days. The wettest October I've recorded is 2001 with 117.2mm with 13 rain days with a record daily total of 59mm in the 10th.
