My January

Temperature: A mean temperature of 15.7C, January 2007 close to the average of 16.0C (8 years of records). The warmest January I've recorded was 2004 with a mean temperature of 18.4C, the coolest was January 2001 though the temperature sensor I was using at the time read a little low. The warmest day was the 22nd with 32.4C with nor'west winds, the coldest day 4.3C on the 4th. The warmest January temperature I've recorded to date was 34.8C in 2005 with light south west winds. The coldest January temperature to date was 3.8C on the 1st January 2001 and 5th January 2006.

Wind: The monthly wind run of 5490km is close to average 5332km I have records for (2002 - 2007). The windiest January to date was 2004 with a wind run of 6167km. Prevailing wind direction was north east recorded 51% of the month, south 40%, north 4%, south west 4%, others 1%. Maximum gust was 53km/h from the west on the 22nd.

Rainfall: The monthly total was 15.4mm, the lowest total for January at my station. My January average for 6 years is 32mm. The highest rainfall for January I've recorded is 2003 with 48mm.
