My August

Temperature:
The mean temperature for the month was 8.1C was above my August average of 7.2C and the third warmest I've recorded. The warmest August was 2009 with an average temperature of 9.2C, the coldest, 2000 with 5.3C.
The warmest day was the 1st with 18.5C, the minimum was -2.4C on the 10th. My coldest August temperature to date is -4.9C shared by 3rd August 2000 and the 16th August 2001

There were 2 days with a temperature at or below 0, my August average is 7. There were 10 days where the maximum temperature for the day was less than 10C, my average is 8. Seven days reached or exceeded 15C, equal to my August average and there were no days that reached 20C. In my 11 years records, only 3 August days have reached exceeded 20C, 2 in 2009 and 1 in 2007.

The monthly wind run of 4732km is 108% of my August average of 4400km making this August the 3rd windiest I've recorded. The windiest August was 2004 with 5654km, the least windy 2001 with 3331km. The highest gust was 48km/h from the south south west on the 8th.

Rainfall:
August had 110mm of rain over 13 days, 138% of my 80.4mm August average.  The wettest day was the 8th with 38mm. My wettest August day was 6th August 2004 with 73.4mm. The wettest August was also 2004 with 172.4mm, the driest, 2005 with 15.4mm.
