My March

Temperature: With a mean temperature for the month of 14.6C, this March was near normal with the average of 14.5 for my station. The warmest day was the 8th with 28.8C, the fifth warmest March day I've recorded. Coldest temperature was 3.3C on the 24th. The coldest March temperature I've recorded is 1.2C on 30th March 2001. There were 17 days when the temperature was at or above 20C, my March average is 15, the lowest is 7 in 2006. There were 6 days when the temperature was at or above 25C, my average is 4. There were no days where the temperature was at or above 30C, my record is 3 on the 5th, 6th and 17th of March 2007 , my average is 1. 2000 and 2004 and the only other occasions that I have recorded 30C or more in March. I have not recorded 0C or below in 10 years of March records. 1.2C on 30th March 2001 is the closest so far.

Wind: (Records from 2001) The monthly wind run of 5120km close to my March average of 5011km. The least windy was March 2007 with a wind run of 4436km. The windiest March was 2006 with 5643km.

Rainfall: March had 31mm of rain over 7 days, a little below the average of 38mm over 9 days.The wettest March I've recorded was 2006 with 66.2mm, the driest was 2001 with 5.8mm over 3 days.
