My September

Temperature: A mean temperature of 11.1C, this September equaled Sept 2002 as the 2 warmest Septembers I've recorded. The warmest day was the 15th with 23.6C with warm west to nor'west winds. The warmest September temperature I've recorded was 24.0C in 2001 with nor'west winds. Coldest temperature was-0.7C with a light frost morning on the 10th. The coldest September temperature I've recorded is -3.1C on 12th Sept 2000. (Note: old temperature sensor in operation at the time, reading low)

Wind: The monthly wind run of 4579km is the second lowest of the 5 Septembers I have records for. The windiest September was 2003 with a wind run of 5356km. Prevailing wind direction was north east recorded 37% of the month, south 33%, north 15%, south west 5%, west 5%, nor'west 4%, east and south east was about 1%. Maximum gust was 44km/h from the nor'west on the 2nd.

Rainfall: Just 1.8mm recorded on the 28th was the highest daily total for the month. The monthly total was just 5mm, the driest September I've recorded at my station, the previous low total being 24.8mm in 2001 The highest September total since 2000 at my station is 101mm in 2000 and the highest daily total is 48.8mm from melting snow on the 19th Sept 2005.

Barometer: The highest pressure for the month was recorded on the 26th and 27th with 1030.5 hPa, the lowest 998.1 hPa on the 19th. No previous barometer history. Humidity: Low humidity on the 18th Sept at 18% equals the humidity recorded on the 2nd January with mild westerly winds blowing.
