My September
Temperature: My mean temperature for the month was 10.6C, this September was the second warmest I've recorded behind 2002 and 2006 with 11.1C. The highest temperature was 25.0C on the 23rd, the highest September temperature I've recorded to date. The coldest -0.6C on the 28th which was the only day the temperature slipped below 0 for the month, my September average is 3. 2000 has my September record of 7 days where temperatures were at or below 0C at some part of the day, at the other end of the scale, September's 2002, 2003 , 2006 and this September had just 1 day. My lowest September temperature to date is -3.1C shared by 2000 and 2007. There were 6 days when the temperature was at or above 20C, my September average is 5. My record to date is September 2006 with 10 and a minimum of just 2 in September 2003.
Wind: (Records from 2001) The monthly wind run of 4921km is just over my September average of 4853km. The least windy September was 2006 with 4579km, the windiest 2003 with 5356km Prevailing wind direction was north east recorded 51% of the month, south 26%, north 10%, east 7% each, north west 4%, south east 2% and nor'west 1%. Maximum gust was 69km/h from the nor'west on the 27th, a new September record for my station. The previous record being 61km/h on 19th September 2005.
Rainfall: With 53.0mm over 6 days, the rain fall was close to average for September which is 52mm over 8 days. The wettest September I've recorded is 2000 with 101mm and the driest is 2006 with just 5mm.
